Whoa, thanks for reminding me! I've only used $25. I better buy a GC or something.

I just bought a Delta e-Gift card for $50 to try to use up the last $25 of the 2015 credit. It seems the current reimbursement practices are generally favorable, so I'll take the risk of not getting the reimbursement. I can always apply the card to future base airfare in mid/late 2016 or beyond.

How do those credits post to the account? Like the Amex Offers post?
Amex - BCP, Platinum, Business Gold
BoA - BankAmericard Cash Rewards
Chase - Freedom, CSP, RC, Ink Plus
Citi - DC, Prestige
Discover - It

I've gotten my credits for my "real" extras (not the gift card I got in a later transaction...I may or may not get a reimbursement later). It appears generally like an Offer does on a statement, and just says "AMEX Airline Fee Reimbursement". There is a separate credit entry for each purchase entry.

That's what I figured.

I've been stepping up my Amex offers game lately. I also think I'm getting a lot more offers than I was and much more useful offers.

Some offers are limited to certain card types. Your Platinum will get some that no BCP will.

Yea. There are some overlaps and some that only one or the other has. Platinum may have all of the offers of BCP.

I've seen offers that reward points for purchases, which the Blue Cash obviously cannot do. Other than that, offers seem to be randomly applied to different accounts, which is why having more cards gives a wider selection of Amex Offers. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason for an offer to be targeted to one account as I have found out in the thread I started about authorized users (my mom doesn't use her Amex at all but still gets good offers). Some do seem to have some reasoning, as my BCE always gets Whole Foods offers whenever they're available.

Before I learned it was fruitless to try to request certain offers, and that the Amex marketing department's allocation of offers was unchangeable, I called Amex to ask. The CSR (who was apparently fairly junior) took a few minutes to see if I could get a particular offer ($50 off $200+ at Brooks Brothers) duplicated on another card. When he came back, he told me that duplicating offers wasn't possible, but he also said he had learned that particular offer only went out to Platinum and PRG cards.

I only heard about one other person using that offer (people don't tend to talk about what they have no interest in), and it was also on that person's PRG.

So it's not definitive proof, but there is a reasonable basis for me to think some offers are limited to certain card products.

I got reimbursed on the gift card (to the extent of the remaining portion of the $100 credit).

I just got a credit for a Petco offer I was pretty sure I missed.

I had plenty of pet food from a bulk purchase on a previous offer, so I didn't really want to buy any more and I let the offer deadline sneak up on me. I just got a $10 gift card online probably a day or two before the deadline, thinking if it didn't work I wouldn't be out too much. The transaction didn't even post until well over a week later when the statement cut, so I figured it wouldn't happen. About a week after that the offer did come through, though. The offers come with so much language in the terms to protect themselves, I wouldn't have blamed Amex if I didn't get it - but I was really happy with them! I think I technically shouldn't have gotten it, so I guess it's possible it may be revoked later? I'll see.
