Nobody is responsible for paying your card - and that includes your AUs - but you. So only your income matters (and your spouse's if you are married and file jointly). Amex cannot and will not count on other people's income for spending YOU are responsible for - and YOU are responsible for all spend on your account, including spending by your AUs. So yes, if the spending you are responsible for paying significantly outpaces your income on a regular basis, then it's a cause for concern for any lender.

Are FR usually only done when you have a charge card with them or has some one heard of FRs being done when the only card on file is a regular Credit card like BCP.
Amex Gold NPSL (35000 Approved)(11/13)
Discover It $22500 (12/13)
Bank of America Cash Rewards $7000 (3/13)
Amex BCP $6000 (12/14)
Walmart Store Card $3050 (2/10)
Capital One Platinum $2000 (3/11)
Chase Slate $1000 (1/16)

The can do an FR to anyone at any time. Though generally you have to give them a reason. The card is irrelevant to an FR.
Chase Freedom $9k~~Chase Sapphire Preferred $6.5k~~Amex Blue Cash Preferred $12.4k~~Citi Double Cash $4.7k

Amex FRs tax cheats and closes their accounts? Good!
Love: IHG, Platinum, Sallie Mae, AA Plat, CSP
Like: Discover, ED, BCE, Hyatt, Arrival, Freedom
Might drop: BrooksBros, Prestige (Costco PC?)
Might add: Proper business card, CSR, Ritz, Delta Gold
Letting new accounts cool off since May
Really not sure what I'll add next or when

Can't really blame Amex. If your spend clearly exceeds the stated income, they're going to question it and it makes sense for them to do so. As someone else mentioned, above all else they don't want to be burned.

As much as sometimes people (not you) act like FR is some sort of ridiculous thing and an outrage that they are subjected to it...there's always a reason. Lenders do not just pluck names off a list and FR them. You're raising flags so they want to look into it. Luckily, you aren't doing anything shady or weird so you just verify the info and move on or close the cards. But I think they had every right to question it.

Can my AUs do MS for me so that I can get my sign up bonus, transfer the points to a partner program and then churn the card? If my EX is my weakest report can I freeze it and force them to pull another one?

Oh crap I think I see multiple TOS violations in my post....looks like 09 is raising that ban hammer again....

The same thing happened to me, I additionally have filed a tax extension for 2014, so it 6 to 8 weeks before they can get taxes from IRS, if I file them tomorrow. 2013 taxes are literally 20 % of what our total business is now. AE has also frozen my Platinum and BCP accounts.
I really don't want to end my relationship with AE, but it doesn't seem like I have much of a choice.
Does anyone have anything I might try?

I've found that if you have nothing to hide; explaining your situation and having the patience to deal with reps over the phone (bc let's face it, it's already difficult getting your point across in person)

Works 99% of the time

Just a matter of whether it's worth it to you to take that time to resolve it or to just altogether look for another credit company
