Targeted for AMEX business cards

Postby Battery111 » Wed Mar 11, 2015 5:59 pm

Over the past few weeks I've noticed when I log into my American Express account, I've been receiving targeted offers for the Gold and Platinum business cards. Now today I had an offer for the Enhanced Business Gold card in my mailbox. I don't own a business, not have I given AMEX any indication that I do. I guess I'm trying to figure out why I'm being targeted for these offers, and if this is happening to anyone else. Are they just really pushing their business cards right now?

Kind of wish I could get it. It looks like a really nice card with customizable benefits and a 50k sign up bonus.

Offers are always just marketing. My wife has a business card offer as well and no business.

Same here. I get login offers for business cards, email offers and USPS mail offers. I just ignore/discard them all.

I guess the thinking is that if you've got an AmEx or two (that might be potentially business-related, such as Delta Skymiles, Platinum, etc.) you might potentially own your own business, so why not pitch a few business cards at you.
AmEx - Platinum (NPSL) , Blue Cash Preferred ($19,000), Gold Delta Skymiles ($8,500)
Chase - Sapphire Preferred ($14,000), Disney ($11,500), Amazon.com ($9,000), Freedom ($8,000)
CapOne - QuickSilver ($7,250) / Platinum Rewards ($7,250)

I guess that makes sense. I was thinking the same thing, but figured I would ask around.
