Amex Blue Preferred

Postby mav » Sun Jan 18, 2015 5:33 pm

Hello,

I am new to the forum, and was recently approved for my first Amex card, the Blue Preferred. I was just curious if anyone had any insight on this card, good and bad. It looks like a good card for someone who buys alot of fuel, but Im not sure about anything else, other than grocery store purchases.

Also, Ive seen alot of talk about a 3x CLI after 60 days. I was given a $16k limit. Will they really bump it to $48k after 60 days???

Are you talking about the Blue Cash Preferred?

There are many Amex cards with 'Blue' in the name...Blue, Blue Sky, Blue Sky Preferred, Blue Cash Preferred, Blue Cash Everyday, and maybe others. If there ever was a Blue Preferred, I don't think it's one they've offered recently.

As far as the limit, they may bump it if they feel your income and assets warrant it.
Wallet: Prestige CSP SchwabPlat Freedom It Hyatt SallieMae AAPlat
SD: Arrival BrooksBros BCE ED IHG
Letting new accounts cool off since May
Really not sure what I'll add next or when

That really should have been done before applying. What insight are you looking for? Information on rewards earn rate is available on the AmEx site.

Google "3x CLI" and read up. As with any CLI with any creditor what you qualify for depends on your credit and income. 3x was a limit. It was not a guarantee.
