I used it a few weeks ago for the first time. My cousin had a lockout parked in front of her parents place. I called and they it took about 45 mins I guess. Overall it was on par with the service I have received in the past with AAA and/or my insurance roadside assistance.

I do agree it can be hit and miss as it is contracted out. The only way we can make it better though is to provide feedback to Amex. If you have a bad experience, you must share in detail with Amex what went wrong. That is the only way they can improve the service. Even if you have a good experience you should provide feedback so when it comes time to renew contracts they have something to go on.

If I understand the benefits of PRG and AAA correctly, then that is a situation where PRG would help but AAA wouldn't?

AAA may have contractors that give better service, but only on the vehicle(s) that the AAA member owns and has registered with AAA? Whereas Amex has contractors that aren't as good, on average, as AAA's, but the Amex PRG benefit covers any car the PRG holder is in. The PRG benefit can apply when the PRG holder is a mere passenger - and not necessarily the owner or driver? Do I have that right?
