Product change, then applying

Postby Gixxer » Tue Dec 16, 2014 10:19 am

I understand you have to be with Amex for a year or so before attempting a product change, but can I do a product change in addition to applying for another card? The product change will be from a BCE to a Delta Reserve(both are revolvers), then app for the Platinum(a charge card). Not worried about the AF's, since I travel a lot and the fees are waived for me(active duty military).

You will probably need to call and talk to someone about it. They may have the power to waive the normal rules if you're also wanting to apply for a Platinum and let you do it all at once.

Are you sure you can PC a BCE to a Delta Reserve? They may both be revolvers, but I was under the impression (though I may need to be corrected) that in-house Amex product lines couldn't be PC'd to any co-branded card.

You might be right. I was just curious and something I was thinking about. It's worth a shot though.

A PC doesn't prevent you from applying for a new card. Whether you get approved for the new card all depends on your credit.
