Definitely. With income verification, if you don't want Amex to proceed any further, then it's alright to withdraw the request from what I've heard.

I am just so afraid to request a CLI. I was FR'd and released without any decreases or limitations about 10 months ago, but I am fearful if I ask for a CLI, I'll get FR'd again.

The only reason I can understand people being squeamish about income verification is if you're in a somewhat unique position. Because I'm in the military, some of the allowances I receive are untaxed and near as I can tell don't even show up on my W2. If I add up what my pretax income is for the year based on what I was paid I get one number, but that number never seems to reconcile with my W2. I always worry that Amex would call me a liar if they pulled my tax returns, although if you add up my pay stubs you would find I'm reporting my accurate income to them. Granted since I have other sources of income which are duly reported it would probably come out in my favor, I don't intend to include that income in my credit applications, since it can vary wildly from year to year based on market conditions.

Okay, I'll restate: "Quite a bit higher, if your income supports it, despite the myfico 'oh god, I'll get asked for tax transcripts' whinging about the magical 25K limit."

(My limit is rather more than 25K, as are my wife's (on more than one account), and so are other people I know, none of whom have had to provide tax info. )

Hello,

I waited 6 months to do this CLI to 21k. I initially started with 3k and then did the 61day CLI to 9k and then waited half a year. My usage was around $1000-$2000 every month and paid in full (except once a balance of $1600 carried over to the next month but then paid in full).
