$100 AMEX Platinum Credit for AA/US Airways

Postby benhollberg » Sun Dec 07, 2014 5:21 pm

Has anyone tried buying American Airlines or US Airways gift cards with the $100 AMEX credit. If you can remember, most Platinum card members were given a $100 incidental fee credit when they lost access to Admirals clubs and guest access to Sky Clubs. I've never flown on either of those airlines and I still have the $100 credit available until the end of the year.

So if I gift cards to AA will I receive the credit, anyone tried this? Or do I need to find another way to use this credit before it expires?

Check the AAdvantage reimbursement thread on Flyertalk.

I order one $50 AA gift card after seeing the successes of people on Flyer Talk. It posted on Monday and today is Friday but still haven't seen the credit. I don't know the timeframe for my account thought, seems like my Delta credits usually take longer than expected anyway.

You can check Flyertalk but I've tried this with United and Delta and was able to be reimbursed for gift registries/gift cards

I believe it's $200 as well for personal platinum cards. $100 for corporate ones.

I received the credit for the first $50 gift card. Just ordered another one, hope it'll work for others also.
