AMEX Backdating and AAoA

Postby Ms10AC » Wed Dec 03, 2014 12:01 pm

Hi! Just approved for AMEX green, scores at 700 across board. I BK them in 1995. My "Member since date" shows 1992. Will this apply to my AAoA on Credit reports? Thanks so much!

The account should show as open from December (or November, whichever) 1992. And fico scores take that into account. Other scores may not; amex properly reports no payment history, so it's easy to see it's a new account. And amex surely doesn't consider it to mean anything.

Yup -- that is the benefit of backdating.
