If your only credit card is 4 months old you might have trouble
Getting the Amex. MAybe you would still be approved but your odds will go up in time so long as you manage your credit well.

I'd still recommend that you keep waiting on that one and try again at another time in approximately two months though I've read a few cases over at MyFico where people have been able to get Amex cards with not much history because of their income.

I checked my account online a couole days ago and they gave me a $1,000 credit increase so now I'm at $1,300. Does that mean that CapOne account is reporting at 6 months even though my 6th statement hasn't been generated. I have until the 16th and that will be my 6th payment due date but I'm getting to anxious. I just want to apply for the PRG already!!

Btw guys,

I'm reporting a 0% utilization now. Don't understand how that's possible, but I am according to cap app.

If you're paying it off in full every month you aren't carrying a balance or "utilizing" credit. If you let part of the balance roll over a month it will show utilization.

With such low limits you don't want to carry more than a couple hundred dollars balance, or your U% will get into the danger zone. Keep it below 30%. You want that number low when Amex pulls it but still showing a payment history. It took me three tries in just over a year to get my first Amex charge. When I was approved I already had a $3k BofA card and a $500 starter card. Next Amex was a Delta with $3k. Right now I've got a Plat. charge and a $23k card with Amex and I don't think I want or need any more.
