BCE Promotions

Postby GoCreditGo! » Wed Nov 05, 2014 7:21 pm

Has anyone heard of BCE promotions? I'm thinking about swapping my PRG to a BCE, but I don't want to lose my "member since" number with them.

Check this thread:

That's pretty much it for any sort of promo. Multiple sites for getting cards point to the same promo.

Not clear what you mean by "lose my 'member since' number with them". If you mean your member since date (MSD as it's known here), you won't. At least not the year. Due to AMEX backdating, the year will be your first/oldest year for having the card. It's the month that will change. That's one of the reasons why folks are encouraged to apply for/product change an AMEX card early in the year; if you hold out until January, your MSD will be 01 of whatever year you got your card, which could actually be earlier than when you really got your first card, based on the month.
Retired, and in the process of retiring cards!

Not an issue. You won't lose it. Any Centurion issued card that you open in future will report as opened in the year that you established AmEx membership.

Unless you put a lot of spending on the card and make great use of the MR system, then opening a BCE and closing the PRG is good. I rarely use the PRG now and will close it before the AF is due.
Love: IHG, Platinum, Sallie Mae, AA Plat, CSP
Like: Discover, ED, BCE, Hyatt, Arrival, Freedom
Might drop: BrooksBros, Prestige (Costco PC?)
Might add: Proper business card, CSR, Ritz, Delta Gold
Letting new accounts cool off since May
Really not sure what I'll add next or when
