I applied yesterday and was approved for prestige. I just don't like charge cards so I went with citi. I think it has more perks than platinum.

Looks like it has better perks than the Plat card. Would be more widely accepted too. Too bad it's ugly, but not that the look of the card should matter.

I think the current design is better than the old one...as far as perks go, Citi has definitely stepped it up to compete with the Platinum, but I'm not sure how valuable TY points are versus MRF or UR.
Wallet: Amex BCE & Chase Freedom. (Credit Card dieting since 2014)

the one weakness i see is lack of domestic airlines as transfer partners. now, with that said, the ty points are worth 1.6 centavos each when redeemed for aa tickets. the fact that this card does multipliers for travel & dining, unlike a certain platinum colored charge card from amex, it could be a good contender for a high end card. one other thing to note: the annual air credit is $250 vs the amex $200, AND it can be used for airfare. as in, i booked a $300 ticket to visit aunt millie and can redeem $250 towards it.

Citi pulls EX for me and their auto-denial was too many inquiries...

I'll have to wait a time before I can attempt them again. :|

Since I'm in DFW often, the Centurion lounge makes it worth it for me to keep the Platinum for now. I haven't read up on Citi Prestige in a few years but it has gotten very competitive. It looks better on paper. I have never dealt with Citi, but it made me not want to do business with them after hearing all the stories of corruption and involvement with the housing market crash. My cousin also banked there a few years back and hated it. I wonder how their CS compares to AmEx? I like the $250 statement credit being available toward airfare. That's fantastic.

yeah its sounds good but the problem is service too- they can make it sounds awesome but give us a hard time trying to get what they promised
