If you are a student and you really want AMEX then apply for the Green card. Stay away from their higher annual fee cards until you have a half decent income. This is just what I would do.

You do need to wait 6-9 months though before you apply.

Well Im back everyone, after 4 months I applied for the amex green card and got approved!!

Probably because my utilization is so low (2%) and I never had anything late.

I was just wondering how long should it take to receive the card? I received two emails about my new account but none regarding the card being shipped or anything

Congratulations on the approval! When it comes to credit cards patience REALLY pays off.

It will probably be a while. I doubt they will spend any more money than necessary sending a green card to someone. When I got the ED it probably took a full week to arrive by snail mail.
