Amex PRG Denied at WM!?

Postby nismoZtuner » Sat Sep 27, 2014 1:58 pm

So last night I walked in to Walmart to waste sometime while me and my friend waited for the estimated time Applebee's gave us for us to get a table. So we walked around WM and found some new flavored twinkes I haven't tried before and since I'm trying to get into a a good physique I'm trying to give up junk food but since I was curious I gave them a chance.. so I later headed to the cash register and the girl at the register starts talking to me about the twinkies and that if that was it haha so then I insert my card into the emv machine slot and then it did its thing... then she tells me the card was denied, I didn't try again but ended up paying with my csp- later at Applebee's I paid with my PRG and it was accepted.. what happened?

Did you use the CSP's magnetic strip or EMV chip?
Love: IHG, Platinum, Sallie Mae, AA Plat, CSP
Like: Discover, ED, BCE, Hyatt, Arrival, Freedom
Might drop: BrooksBros, Prestige (Costco PC?)
Might add: Proper business card, CSR, Ritz, Delta Gold
Letting new accounts cool off since May
Really not sure what I'll add next or when

Then a bad EMV reader is one explanation.

Probably due to all the kids and babies stuffing stuff into the slot!
