American in American Express

Postby rockyrock » Thu Sep 11, 2014 10:50 pm

I recently called Amex up to see if they would wave my AF under the SCRA. I'm currently a reservist but just finished up a nearly three year stint on active duty. I had read many accounts of them taking care of military folks but was a little skeptical after talking to the csr when I applied.

To my surprise and delight I noticed >$1400 in credits on my Platinum and a refund for the AF on my BCP. They sent a msg saying even though I had already finished my active duty they were crediting me everything assessed to me during that period. :oooo

Way to go Amex

Chase has the same general policy, so you might contact them. I expect both Amex and Chase will charge you annual fees in the future, though, as you're no longer active duty? At least when your next renewal month comes up?

And thank you for serving!
