I always thought those offers were a diabolical plot to destroy my credit. I bet they are in cahoots with the insurance companies who want to find reasons to jack our rates up. New inquiry? Ok let's double your insurance rate you are a terrorist to credit!!!!!

I knew it, this is just confirmation of the level of evil that goes on. I didn't realize Amex was part of the conspiracy but it totally makes sense.

Amex doesn't care that much about you.

AMEX is a huge corporation where each product has multiple departments. While they might share some data it isn't like a centralized database / repository that everyone uses. Your invitation is just based on the shared data. So view it as an invitation to apply, assume a hard pull and be prepared for the result.
