Tiger Woods American Express partnership over for good!

Postby Cucumber » Sun Jan 03, 2010 3:13 am

Thanks to Tiger's 14+ mistresses, I mean *alleged* mistresses :ppp , I don't think American Express will ever want to do another deal with him again.

They were smart to end their 10 year deal within him in '97. I don't know what the amount was but I remember it was A LOT! Expensive celeb endorsements are such a waste of $$$
OBAMA
Stop talking crap about him!

Tag Heuer has an ad on their website which says: We support Tiger Woods.

To support a selfish man that has destroyed his family is outlandish. I will be sure to never buy one of their watches again for doing that.

We just got back from vacation. Had fun at the airports reinterpretting the tag lines on the Accenture advertisements that still had Tiger...wish I could remember some of them. A few were priceless

"Go ahead, Be a Tiger"...if I remember correctly.

I don't (at least I don't think I do) let celebrity endorsements shape my consumer behavior. Tiger's virtues/vices don't affect my opinion on products he represents one way or another. Not that it matters, I'm not in the market for anything he is/was selling.

I remember one of the ads had something to do with trust or fidelity or something - along the lines of putting your trust in Accenture so that you can focus on what you do best. Anyway, I think they might wantto consider removing that one!

I tend to be very immune from advertising. I got Direct TV with DVR about 2 years ago and have watched very few commercals since. I definitely don't let them influence my behavior when buying. But I do sometimes find advertising amusing.
