Amex Charge Card

Postby beckhsrules » Thu Jul 31, 2014 2:09 pm

I would like to have an Amex Charge Card and I am confused whether I should apply it or not. I have an Amex Blue and BoA VISA Secured card. I applied recently for the 61st day CLI in Amex (July 5th) and wasnt approved. I am thinking of closing out my secured card if I get a charge card as my utilization won't be affected. Please let me know what to do now. As per AMEX my FICO is 703 as per July 7th.
Cards:

Amex Blue Sky 2000 (5/14)
Amex PRG NPSL (8/14)
Bank of America Cash Rewards Visa 2500 (1/14)
BofA Better Balance Rewards 1000 (6/14)
Discover IT 1250 (4/14)

Scores: As of May 25 2014

Experian 714
Equifax 709
TransUnion 714
Discover 694(Aug 31)

I wouldn't apply right now if I were you. Let your accounts mature a little, and build up a history with Amex so that they know they can give you another card.

Agree with nismo. Since you are already a member, it shouldn't be a hard if they decline you. And given it's a charge rather than a credit card they may be willing to extend you that.

I'd take the shot if you want it.
