Chances of getting approved for BCE

Postby fishmartin » Tue Jul 22, 2014 10:19 pm

I was wondering what my chances of getting approved for the Blue Cash everyday card.
I recently started applying for credit cards about a couple weeks ago, since I finally managed to lower my credit utilization. So far I've been approved for Discover It and Chase Freedom. This is what it breaks down to.
Wells Fargo college card- 1100/2700
Carecredit- 0/1700
Discover it- 150/1000
Chase freedom- 0/2000
I am 20 years old with an income around 20k and still in college. The discover card and freedom I applied for during the same week about two weeks ago and also asked for a credit increase on my freedom which was approved. Credit karma has my score at 715 and chase said I have it at 704. I'm not sure if that's too many inquiries in a short amount of time though.

Thanks for the feedback.

So if I pay down my utilization today and then apply tomorrow, what are my chances then?

Yep. Card companies will always throw you for a loop when you apply. I applied for a Freedom about 6 months ago and was denied. I tried again and was denied yet again. I said "screw this" and tried for the AmEx BCE and was instantly approved for $8,000. I then read about the AmEx Everyday and liked the rewards, so I applied for that too. I got the 7-10 message, which people over at myfico say it means you got denied, but I then got an email two days later saying I was approved, and I had an even higher credit limit than my first AmEx. Didn't make much sense to me, but I don't care, I have two great cards with great limits now.

You'll only know if you apply, so go for it!

Well I don't think it's very high, I applied for this card last night and got declined I know it's cause my utilization went up and it hasn't posted with the updated info. At any rate disclosing my $120k income and being an Amex gold member , it was all in vain didn't work. I will just stick to my card I want to get the 15k bonus which is right around the corner and don't want any other cards as I will not be using them.
