I have a small online business that just started a few months ago. I had my settings to authorize & capture (that was not bright, live and learn) and some large transactions went through. When the second large transactions went through it became really fishy since they were both $2500 each. I decided to process a refund for both after they both settled. I thought that was all done with but a month later, AMEX did a chargeback to my processing company and in turn they pulled that $5000 out of my account. So the amount was refunded plus AMEX is taking another $5000 out of my account. I sent my processing company the refund confirmation and now waiting for that to clear. Is it normal for AMEX to not see the refund and automatically take the chargeback funds? Anything else I can/need to do at this point? Thanks in advance.
