Since using my Amex Platinum more and neglecting my Discover, I got an auto CLI from Discover on my More card...almost doubling it. Got the email notification about a week ago. I guess they decided they weren't feeling the love from me recently with very little being spent on it now that I've switched most of my purchases to the Amex. Considering Discover's cash back deal for this quarter has been home improvement, I had no reason to really use it.

That's what I'm doing with them as well - I put a small recurring monthly charge on the card and that's what they are going to get unless I can use the 5% category. Freedom will get first priority when they overlap. I understand they are a 'conservative lender' - that's great, I can also choose to be a 'conservative spender' on that line. Fair is fair.

As for Amex, they've been seeing a decent amount of spend from me, and that is going to increase. Associated is now getting the former Discover swipes I'm done neglecting them to try to curry favor since it just hasn't yet paid off. If someday they come around, I'll give them more spend. Until then I'd rather reward those who took care of me.

I am 22 and when canceled my BCE for the everyday card my limit went to 10k and I called and requested a 20k limit yesterday it was instantly approved. I have minimal credit history and no loans or anything. I would assume if you wanted an even higher credit limit you could get it when your able to ask again. I only spend like 1.5k or so a month and pay my balance off every week or so on the app. Goodluck!

Mission accomplished. Though it was a PC rather than a new application.

Yeah you're right. I wasn't going to get it anyway though as I already had the Gold card, unless they targeted me which they didn't.

once they realize you are already a card holder of a Gold then you wouldn't get it anyway most of those say new card members only.
