About $12K hotel tab in Budapest on a corp Green card to pay for a 3-day conference my company sponsored.
Was on the phone w/AXP CSR for about 15-minutes as they grilled me to verify it was all legit.
Txn got approved.

this thread made me smile, I am also a member on the rolex forums. i'd like to pick up a 1601, (love the pie pan) when I am accepted to the U of M's business school in fall of next year, and i'd really like to get a 11613 blue/gold 2 tone when I graduate. i am a really big fan of the older stuff, and haven't gotten into the ceramic's and the 41mm datejusts. Nothing to me is more beautiful then a fluted bezel, and a jubilee.

Just bought a MacBook Air yesterday with mine while I wait for my money to get transferred to my bank account. It was about 1100 dollars or so.

Wow...that is quite a lot!
I'm amazed at the number of places that take credit cards for big transactions and don't insist on checks/cash/debit to keep processing fees low.

My largest Amex transaction? $80 for a long cab ride.
I got it less than a month ago and most transactions have been quick grocery stops.

I've not worn a watch for years, with the following logic:
If I'm in a situation where I really need to know the time, I am also in a situation where I need to be able to receive or make calls or emails.
If I have a smartphone, it can tell me the time.
If I've somehow managed to lose both my phone and my car (with a dash clock in it), then a watch won't do much to help me!
