The Gold Card from American Express Open is what I, as well as most people, would consider to be the most rewarding credit card (excluding the ultra premium credit cards such as Centurion, Accolades, etc). It is a business card, but you can apply as a sole proprietor by using your legal name as the business name, and leaving the federal tax ID field blank. They normally don't advertise or mention many of them online, but with this card you get many free perks such as the $75 food credit at Starwoods Hotels. In addition to those types of free benefits, the best may be the free protection they offer on purchases. For example they often double the length of manufacturers warranties for free, and if a store won't accept your return, they will take it back and refund you the money. The annual fee is $125 but you can have the annual fee waived for the first year if you
apply here. This is a great way to test out the card free for a year to see if the benefits will be worth it for you. If you don't like it, just cancel before the year is up and you owe nothing.
