Here's what I do: When the waiter or waitress brings me the bill,I leave a cash tip on the table and go up to the cashier I write in 0/zero on the tip line, and on the total line the amount of the actual cost.
What gets me is some restaurants don't have a cashier, and the waiter/waitress walks away with your card and processes the transaction in some back room.
ALWAYS follow that waiter/waitress to that back room and look over their shoulders.
