You may (or may not) have noticed the name used on nearly every American Express credit card advertisement and commercial. The name is CF Frost, aka Charles Frost. This is a real person that worked for the ad firm Ogilvy and Mather as an account executive. He was the one that created the "Do you know me?" campaigns for Amex. They decided to use his name CF Frost on the cards because they figured it would be better than using some made up name like John Doe, or making up a new name, because someone out there would probably have that name and sue for it being used. Charles Frost left O&M to found his own ad agency in New York but he and American Express always remained "friends" despite his departure.
During a fund-raising event hosted by American Express for the restoration of the Statue of Liberty, Charles Frost was distinguished as an honored guest. He was even featured in a skit during the event for his famous slogan.
So if you ever wondered who CF Frost was, now you know.
